To everybody out there on the interweb, I say hello. My name is James and this is my blog. I’m fairly new to this so please give me some grace as I am learning about this. So for my first experience I will use a few questions for you guys to get to know me a bit better.
Who are you?
My name is James Lamb. I graduated high school in 2012, and attended Bible College for 1 year before moving on to University.I am currently a first-year student at the University of Regina in the Faculty of Education, and I am currently learning about using technology in the classroom in my ECMP 355 course.
What is your experience with technology?
I would say that my experiences with technology have been limited. From early on I was frightened by all those internet safety things that came out and so I decided that the best way to avoid that would be to abstain from putting myself on the internet as much as possible. I did join Facebook, but other than that I have put a distance between myself and that which is unknown, which is another reason why I did not take advantage of all that the internet had to offer: I did not understand it. So, again, I’m pretty new to this stuff.
What are you thoughts about using technology in the classroom?
My stance on technology in the classroom is this: so far I do not know enough to make an informed decision. From experience, I can see it as a benefit when used properly, but I have yet to see the full potential it has for good or ill in the classroom.
I hope you guys were able to glean some things about me in this, and stay tuned for the next excerpt in my blogging experiences.
